How to Apply

You must be a Canadian student enrolled full-time in an undergraduate agriculture or agri-food program at a recognized Canadian college, university or trade school; be entering first year or be in second or third year; and be at least 16 when applying. Final-year students and students in graduate, post-graduate or professional programs are not eligible. Past CABEF recipients may not reapply, and immediate family members of CABEF board members are not eligible.

The closed 2026 application used a one-session online form that could not be saved. Applicants supplied leadership activities and either a 750–1,000 word response or a 2–5 minute video responding to CABEF's agriculture question. CABEF requires applicants' own work and prohibits AI-generated ideas or writing. Check the funder's page for the next annual application.
