University of Guelph-Humber
Provider
Value
$1,000 to $5,000 in the first year, renewable for three more years at $1,000 to $4,000 a year
Deadline
No application: automatically considered

The University of Guelph-Humber automatically considers every Canadian high school applicant for this scholarship, and the offer arrives with the offer of admission. A 75% admission average earns $1,000 in first year, rising in steps to $5,000 at 95%, and the award renews for three more years at $1,000 to $4,000 a year depending on your cumulative average. The estimate in your offer of admission is guaranteed once you meet the conditions of that offer and can only go up: your marks are reassessed in July when final grades arrive, and students who got no estimate in their offer can still qualify then.

How to Apply

You must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person entering the first year of post-secondary studies for the first time, and enrolled in a full-time course load in the fall and winter. The first-year amount is set by your admission average: 95.0% and above $5,000; 90.0–94.9% $4,000; 85.0–89.9% $3,000; 80.0–84.9% $2,000; 75.0–79.9% $1,000. Renewal amounts are $4,000 at 95.0% and above, $3,000 at 90.0–94.9%, $2,000 at 85.0–89.9% and $1,000 at 80.0–84.9%. Students who have one attempt at post-secondary studies and withdrew without any grade data are also considered, on their top six 4U/M courses including the subject requirements, provided they present a transcriptable record and apply within one year of that first attempt. For students starting in 2021-2022 or later this scholarship cannot be held with the Founders' Academic Merit Scholarship or the Vice Provost Entrance Scholarship.

There is no application form. All eligible Canadian high school applicants are automatically considered and a formal scholarship offer accompanies the offer of admission; if you did not receive one, every eligible student is reconsidered in July on final grades. Renewal is automatic as well — the university considers you each year on your cumulative fall and winter average, you must keep a full-time course load in both semesters, and courses completed on a Letter of Permission do not count. Missing renewal one year does not end your eligibility in later years. The scholarship is renewable for three calendar years from the term of admission and is credited to your university account in two equal payments, one at the start of the fall semester and one at the start of the winter semester. No renewals are issued for the summer semester.
