A $1,000 entrance award for students who completed an Ontario Specialist High Skills Major in Arts and Culture, Business, Health and Wellness, Information and Communications Technology, Justice, Community Safety and Emergency Services, Non-profit or Sports, and who enter the University of Guelph-Humber with a final admission average of at least 80%. There is nothing to apply for: indicate the Specialist High Skills Major on your OUAC application and the university considers you automatically.

How to Apply

You must have successfully completed an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent and six Grade 12 U and/or M courses including the program-specific subject requirements, be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident entering your first year of post-secondary studies for the first time, have a minimum final admission average of 80%, and indicate on your OUAC application that you will complete or have completed a Specialist High Skills Major. The qualifying categories are Arts & Culture, Business, Health & Wellness, Information & Communications Technology, Justice, Community Safety & Emergency Services, Non-profit and Sports.

There is no application. The university automatically considers new students who meet the criteria, provided the Specialist High Skills Major is indicated on your OUAC application; Guelph-Humber's own summary adds that your guidance counsellor must confirm the Major has been completed when uploading your admission grade data to the OUAC. The award is credited to your university account in two equal payments, one at the start of each of the fall and winter semesters, and you must be registered full-time in both semesters to receive and keep it.
