The Wolf Scholars Program offers a fully funded undergraduate experience at the University of Toronto's St. George campus, in the Faculty of Arts & Science (excluding Rotman Commerce) or the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering. Tuition is fully funded for all four years, and Scholars receive an annual stipend of $10,000 for other student expenses; program activities, including Wolf Scholars trips and retreats, are paid for by the Wolf Cooper Foundation. Alongside their degree, Scholars take small-group seminars at the Munk School of Public Policy & Global Affairs, are supported in securing a summer internship after second year, and travel within Canada and internationally as a cohort. Up to 16 students are selected each year. The next cohort enters in Fall 2027.
Annual award. Last ran: 2026.
How to Apply
- Eligibility
- Application
You must currently be in your final year of secondary school or in your first year of Cégep, and have not yet attended a post-secondary institution; if you graduated from secondary school within the last three years you are still eligible, provided you meet the other requirements. Students taking post-secondary (dual credit) courses while in Grade 12 are still eligible. You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident at the time of application (Canadian citizens and permanent residents attending high school abroad may apply). You need a minimum cumulative 90% academic average in your last completed year of high school — for students currently in Grade 12 or first-year Cégep, that means Grade 11 final grades. Career, workplace and technical/vocational courses, work experience, co-operative education, applicable Open courses and other non-academic courses are excluded from that average. You must be born between September 1, 2005 and December 31, 2010. You must apply to the University of Toronto's Faculty of Arts & Science (excluding Rotman Commerce) or Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering at the St. George campus through OUAC by the Wolf Scholars deadline. Applicants who accept offers from Rotman Commerce, Kinesiology & Physical Education, Architecture or Music are not eligible. Financial need is not specifically evaluated.
Apply directly through the Wolf Scholars application portal; you do not need a nomination. A school nomination is optional but recommended: it adds support to your application but does not guarantee advancement, and schools may nominate up to three students. You must also apply separately to the University of Toronto through OUAC, and submit any required program or College supplementals by the supplemental deadline of December 1, 2026, if applicable. The application requires two references, submitted as reference forms rather than letters through the application platform; one must be an academic reference, who should be teaching you now or have taught you very recently. Late applications are not considered. Semi-finalists are invited to an online interview in January 2027; finalists attend Wolf Selection Weekend at the University of Toronto in late February, with travel and accommodation covered; up to 16 Wolf Scholars are selected in March. Selected Scholars receive a conditional acceptance, pending their acceptance to the University of Toronto in early 2027. If you are selected for Wolf Scholars and another major scholarship, you can accept only one offer.
